Workshop Description

After a brief historical context of music as therapy and short explanation of sonic therapy, attendees will participate in various vocal breathing, awareness and strengthening exercises for the ear, brain, voice, rhythmic patterns and chants designed for wellness. Additional activities such as toning the chakras, musical body scans, circle healing and more are engaged to facilitate well-being. Questionnaires and listening tests for diagnosing areas treated by sonic therapy are available.

Mini-Concert Description

Some venues include an intimate, twenty minute to half-hour opening concert. For those attending the concert and/or workshop, it is a wonderful primer for the wellness-with-sound activities that follow at the workshop. Currently, Darlene will be performing up to six  selections from her albums: Traveling the Blissful Highway, Color Me Home, The Grand Piano Spa. Previous mini-concerts have been described as rejuvenating angelic soul-stirring sounds from Darlene's award-winning albums of her inspiring original pieces and timeless arrangements, blending Vocal & Piano New Age, Classical, Inspirational Positive Pop, and World Music. Darlene’s vocals are otherworldly, beautiful and engaging, powerful and sensitive, touching a universal note in all.

Sonic Massage Concert Description

Don't miss this bliss . . . if you want to experience a sincerely deep and healing relaxation. The Sonic Massage Concert is a one hour therapeutic sound 'concert' using tuned quartz crystal singing bowls designed to massage you entirely with sound, inside and out, bringing you into a deeper state of relaxation where homeostasis may occur.The brain waves slow way down, consciousness flows to a special awareness in a deeply relaxed state. This shift from the chaos, out-of balance, blocked energy into balance and deep relaxation, allows your body and mind to open the flow and release its healing mechanisms. Participants sit or recline in a comfortable position while Darlene plays her quartz crystal singing bowls, serving the needs of each particular audience dynamic, including a piece in a special key used by ancient healers in Malta, a frequency interval that helps break up cancer cells, a sonic guided imagery designed to release negativity and induce positivity and more . . . many participants have said that once the sound started and circulated, they never wanted it to stop. It was like being transported to another dimension!
